俳句と写真
祖母の見よう見まねで、高校生からつくりはじめた俳句。もしかするともう二度と思い出さないかもしれない小さな感激が残る喜び、観察による発見、たった17文字にまとめることは意外にも奥深く、色々な気づきを与えてくれる文芸です。
When I was in high school, I began to compose haiku by following my grandmother. It is a great pleasure to have even small emotions that you may never remember again remain in your haiku. Observations also lead to new discoveries. Expressing and summarizing in just 17 syllables is surprisingly profound, and haiku is a literary art that gives me various realizations.
日本語として一番快い調子の響きにまとめた詩が俳句なのです。感動はその場で消えていきますが、その感動を大切にして、言葉に残す。こんなすばらしいことはありません。そしてその感動を俳句にしたとき、あらためて、実感としてその感動が自分のなかに蘇ってくる。本当に楽しいことです。 稲畑汀子『自然と語り合うやさしい俳句』より
A haiku is a poem that has the most pleasing sound in Japanese. The impression disappears instantly, but if you cherish it, it will remain in the haiku. It's rare to find such a wonderful thing.
